The situation on the occupied territories was the main topic of the meeting, which was held between Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service on Security, Security Policy and Crisis Management, Pedro Serrano.

The Deputy Secretary General received information on the case of Irakli Kvaratskhelia. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, while talking about Kvaratskhelia’s death at the Russian military base, once again underlined the human rights violations on the occupied territories.

The State Minister also informed the EU representative about the conditions in which people live on the both sides of the dividing line.

Pedro Serrano was interested in the Government's peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future" and noted that implementing such projects is crucial for confidence building.
