The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani congratulates the Yezidis living in Georgia on the celebration of Charshama Sarsale.

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani laid a wreath at the memorial to the patriots who fell on April 9 on the occasion of the Day of Restoration of State Independence, National Unity and Public Consent of Georgia and paid tribute to the memory of those who died for the freedom of the homeland.

”I want to congratulate our Roma citizens on this day and wish them happiness, peace and prosperity. Wish peace, happiness and prosperity in your families and our common homeland. We all know that the Roma is unique people with unique culture and traditions that make our diverse and multicultural country even richer.  

Issues related to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian-language newspaper Vrastan and the Azerbaijani-language newspaper Gurjistan were discussed at the working meeting with the State Minister.  

“I congratulate all the Assyrian citizens living in Georgia on this beautiful holiday of spring. I wish well-being and peace for each family and the whole Georgia. Georgia is a multi-ethnic and multilateral country and this is our strength and wealth, we will do everything to sustain it”, - said Akhvlediani.  

Today we are able to inform you that the current anti-covid immunization program in Georgia provides an opportunity for medical personnel and relevant age groups living in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region to be vaccinated in the territory controlled by the central government of Georgia.  

In the Resolution adopted on 24 March, the UN Human Rights Council reaffirms its commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders. The UN Human Rights Council recognizes with appreciation the efforts of the Government of Georgia to strengthen democracy, the rule of law and the promotion and protection of human rights.  

 „It is also an important priority for us to strengthen the involvement of women in the peace process and to improve their legal and socio-economic situation. In this regard, in line with our commitments under the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security, we are implementing a variety of activities, including regular informational meetings with women’s organizations and women living near demarcation lines, as well as raising their awareness of domestic violence and other issues. We plan to systematize such meetings more and further encourage women's participation in trust-building projects“.
